Description
A woman lived in an apartment above a family who kept several dogs. These dogs were tied up outside all day, even in freezing temperatures around zero degrees Celsius. Because the dogs were “crying,” she was deeply moved and called an emergency service, which came to take care of them.
This, however, greatly angered the neighbors, and she began to fear retaliation — something not uncommon in her country when one interferes in the affairs of others. Unfortunately, her partner was of no support to her; on the contrary, he was unpredictable himself, as he suffered from a bipolar anxiety disorder.
Immediately after this incident, her hands and feet became swollen and painful. Arthritis was suspected.
It was quickly clear to me that, on one hand, she was experiencing an active collecting tubule program of the kidneys, since she felt utterly “abandoned” and alone in her situation. On the other hand, a resolved self-esteem conflict likely triggered a swelling healing phase in the connective tissue of the hands and feet. Because of the water retention caused by the active kidney collecting tubule program, the healing swellings became much more pronounced.
The self-esteem conflict at these specific locations was linked to the fact that, in similar previous situations where the dogs had also suffered, she had not taken action (“hands”) — even though she would have preferred to do something, to take a stand or step in (“feet”). During the active phase of this perceived self-devaluation, an often unnoticed tissue breakdown occurs, which is then rebuilt in the healing phase.
The biological purpose is only achieved after the healing phase: the affected tissue becomes stronger and thicker than before, better able to withstand similar situations in the future. This is what makes the programs controlled by the new mesoderm special, since in contrast, the biological purpose of programs controlled by other brain regions usually lies in the active phase.
The resolution of her symptoms — the swollen and painful hands and feet — was drastic but effective. She separated from her partner, after years of unsuccessfully trying to help him despite his psychological issues, as he repeatedly became aggressive toward her. A partnership cannot truly function when the woman takes on a motherly role — a different level of need.
In addition, she moved to another city where she had friends. There, she was no longer alone and was safe from her former neighbors. As a result, the kidney collecting tubule program stopped immediately, and the swelling caused by the water retention subsided within a week.
It’s unimaginable what might have happened had she fallen into a downward spiral of self-devaluation following the diagnosis of arthritis — a condition many people remain trapped in for years, or even permanently, continually suffering from the symptoms.
