I had always liked cats, but growing up in an apartment building where larger pets were prohibited, there were no cats in the neighborhood.

At almost 50, I suddenly realized that I was allergic to cats, as more and more relatives, acquaintances, and even neighbors suddenly had cats. It was as if they had all agreed on it! Visits and contact became problematic and were no longer enjoyable without antihistamines, even though I dislike taking medication.

At some point, armed with my knowledge of new medicine, I realized that there must be a trigger for this too. I wanted to try the same thing that had helped me with my bee and wasp allergy and my horse allergy. Once again, I sat in a long, alkaline bath, with notepaper and a pen on the edge of the tub, and thought about my contact with cats. And then I knew:

A single mother friend called me because one of her children had had a minor accident at school and had been taken to the children's hospital for a check-up. Of course, she wanted to be with her injured son, so she asked me if I could feed her younger child and put him to bed in the meantime.
My husband was already at home, so it was no problem for me to help her out. She came home around 10 p.m. and we made ourselves some tea and chatted. We had actually agreed that she would drive me home afterwards, but then she suggested that I should sleep at her place and that she would drive me home early in the morning so that my husband could go to work. I had no objection and informed my husband of my change of plans.

My girlfriend had a somewhat unusual lifestyle at the time—what you might call “alternative.” For example, her 2x2m mattress was simply laid on the floor. I had seen that her cat also made itself comfortable in her bed—somehow I didn't really like that—but I hadn't thought about it when I agreed to stay. Well, I didn't want to be difficult, so I stripped down to my underwear and slipped into bed....

She also got ready for bed—and slipped into bed with me—NAKED!!! I really wasn't expecting that. I'm not prudish, and actually it's funny. But it caught me completely off guard. Me with a naked woman under the same blanket! An absolute NO-GO! Like I said, actually funny—because nothing else happened. It was just her habit, but I felt so uncomfortable... I moved as far away as possible. I “survived” the night – but afterwards I was allergic... to cats!

I wrote down all my feelings and emotions, worked through every aspect that was troubling me at the time using meridian energy techniques – and the cat allergy is gone!
